inked. Yes to all those looks of disbelief, shock and perhaps, horror. I have been tattooed. And I love it. It has been a long time coming. To answer all those burning questions, yes I really, really thought about it (for like 3 years). Yes, it really did hurt (but it only took 3 minutes - so I can't really complain). No, Ryan didn't get one. This was a girls adventure. And for those of you that know my father, Yes, he thinks it was a horrible idea. And I quote, "You won't be allowed in my house if you get one." However, his bark is worse than his bite considering I had Easter dinner at their house and took an afternoon nap in his chair.
So thanks to my friend Julie for the photographs and marvelous moral support.
And thanks to my friend Tami my fellow tattooee (before picture, check her blog for the after).
So here is a photo series of the great event.
Best part of the story is that every time someone asks me about my tattoo...the Ichthus, or Jesus fish...I get to tell them about Jesus and how I walk with him everyday and how he saved me from my sins. SO COOL!
A little lesson in Greek, be prepared this is a little like the dad in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
The Greek letters that make up the word Ichthus are a pretty good lesson in themselves.
Iota - 1st letter in the Greek word for Jesus.
Chi - 1st letter in the Greek word for Kristos or Christ
Theta - 1st letter of the Greek word for God's.
Upsilon - 1st letter of the Greek for Son.
Sigma - 1st letter of the Greek for Savior.
Jesus Christ God's Son and Savior....hmm...
Best reaction so far: Maggie. A friend from way, way back (like before Kindergarten) saw it last week and said..."I don't even know you right now!" So, so perfect!
