Ryan and I spent a lovely Labor Day weekend. We relaxed, enjoyed fun company, did some house work, etc.
Friday night we went to the Newton High football game. We really enjoyed watching it and talking with friends. In all honesty, one of the best parts of the night was greeting all the kids we know that were at the game. It was interesting to watch their reactions to us. Some were like - "Why are you even speaking to me in public?" Others were more cordial...small hand flick, wave thing and and uttered "Hey." Finally, it was refreshing to see the ones who were like "Lindsay, Ryan! Hey whats up?" I think we will do that next time we go too.
We also had a United Way event at the game. It wasn't quite the hit I had hoped it would be, but it was fun and I think we reached some folks that hadn't been reached before - which was totally the point.
We finished up the evening at Braum's. Seriously, does it get better than a Friday night game - perfect weather and ice cream with friends...I think not.
Saturday was lovely, it was spent like this:
A walk/run here.
A day full of College Football - watching with the windows open with the whole MacAdam side of the family.
Ryan made some delicious ribs in the smoker. And I turned these into cobbler.
And then we finished off the day with a little of this in the back yard.
With
Good friends
and good family.
Maybe next time you could join us around the fire.
