another Manic Monday.
Well, not really. I just needed a title for this post.
And quite frankly, I wasn't sure I knew what manic meant, so in case you don't either, I looked it up.
Manic - (adj) showing wild and apparently deranged excitement and energy; frenetically busy; frantic.
So let's just say this Monday is the opposite.
I think it was time for a little God intervention. We have been talking at church (check out the sermons at the church link) a lot about perspective.
And since I believe in the saving grace of Jesus (and not Oprah), I can be sure that it's God who was tugging at my heart this morning.
Things just fell into place, and I enjoyed a relaxing Monday morning.
And my friends, a relaxing Monday morning can only come from Him.
Seriously.
Well, at least that's how it is in the Land of Lindsay (its a lovely place by the way - you're welcome to visit).
I will break it down for you.
3:45 am Refreshing thunderstorm.
Woke up, checked the radar and my hanging plants.
All is well - 2 more precious hours to sleep.
5:50 am Alarm clock buzzes - popped right up.
Put on my running shoes and found a hair tie.
Joined some great ladies at church to kick my rear into gear.
6:40 am Returned home. Got ready for work.
Made record time.
Even while watching Today and appreciating my hydrangeas.
7:30 am Took my Bible study book. And read the first chapter.
If you are a gal or a fella (you might understand your gal a little better),
and you haven't read this - you should.
8:10 am Played the piano. I have never played before work before
It was awesome.
Song choices included:
In Christ Alone - a beautiful hymn.
Balcony Theme from Romeo & Juliet - a beautiful piano solo.
Download 5-12 Balcony Scene - William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet
8:20 am Drove to work.Heard a great song by a great band. "Lay 'em Down" NeedToBreathe
Shout out to Toby who plays with them, and I kinda know him.
Makes me feel a little bit cooler than I really am. : )
Couldn't find that song in the right format, so check out this track. Seriously, listen.
So that was my morning. It was fabulous.
I am going to try it again tomorrow.
Hopefully its kind of like the If/Then statements I learned about in geometry in high school (sophomore year - and I remember).
You know, the ones that were like: If angle A is 50 degrees and angle B is 75 degrees, Then angle C = 180 - (angle A + angle B). If you are trying to find the angles of a triangle.
Anyway...this is my new if/then.
If I wake up earlier and I spend a little time with Jesus, Then I will have a relaxed morning and better outlook for the day ahead.
