There are several preset "categories" created by typepad that I am able to classify my posts under. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't classify them, but I am trying to be better about that.
Anyway, one is called "current affairs".
I love this one.
I think I tag almost all my posts under "current affairs."
I am pretty sure this tag is for when I write about things like the state of the oil spill (why do we call it a spill? nothing actually seems to have spilled, just more over-flowing...) in the gulf or the economic state of our country or the fate of the free-world hangs in the balance because of this "current affair".
But let's face it - it is very likely that I will never write about any of those events.
Its just not really in my repertoire.
Yesterday I posted about my poor, sick, little macbook...and I classified that as a current affair.
So sometime, if you are just clicking through and you choose to read posts under the label "current affairs" be aware you will not get my opinion on the economic situation and riots in Greece or the crazy job crisis going on in Spain (seriously, they have some problems).
I let smart people write about that stuff - you know people with doctorates in economics or political science (worst class i ever took by the way).
But you should check it out. You never know what you might find within the definition "current affairs" but I can guarantee it won't ever be about what you just thought of when you read that sentence. : )
Happy perusing.
